PAYBACK: Marketing Challenges and Campaigns

CHALLENGE

PAYBACK needed a way to create and manage marketing challenges that incentivized customer spending. The goal was to enable marketing managers to set up promotions while allowing users to enroll and track progress via the PAYBACK app.

SOLUTION

A desktop admin system for marketing managers to create challenges and a user interface within the PAYBACK app for customers to participate. The solution streamlined campaign management and improved user engagement.

MY ROLE

Led an inception workshop with 20+ stakeholders to define the product. Conducted user research, designed prototypes, and created the user interface. Worked closely with developers to align the design with technical constraints.

APPROACH

Facilitated workshops to frame the product scope, ran user research through surveys and testing, and iteratively refined the design based on feedback. Paired with front-end developers to ensure a seamless implementation.

RESULTS

Delivered a fully functional challenge system that increased user participation and provided marketing managers with an efficient campaign tool. The feature successfully launched in the PAYBACK app.

I worked for Payback as a UX designer for one year. During that time, a multifunctional team and I worked on designing and delivering the concept of (Marketing) Challenges for Payback. We developed a desktop admin system that allowed Payback marketing managers to create challenges (such as “Every 50€ spent on Store X during the month of December grants you a 20% discount coupon”) and a user interface on the Payback app so customers could enroll in challenges and track their progress.

My work focused, but was not limited to, running an inception with over 20 participants from the team and stakeholders to frame the product. I conducted user research and analysis, created prototypes for testing, designed the user interfaces, and collaborated with the development team to find agile solutions for front-end framework capabilities.
